PERMISSION TO TRYOUT & PLAYER RELEASE POLICY

Permission to Tryout (PTT) Policy

A Permission to Skate (PTT) form is required in the following situations:

🔹 SCFHA-Registered Players Trying Out Elsewhere

  • Any player currently registered with the St. Catharines Female Hockey Association (SCFHA) who wishes to attend tryouts for another OWHA-affiliated association must obtain a Permission to Tryout form from the SCFHA.

🔹 Players from Other OWHA Associations Trying Out for SCFHA

  • Players currently registered with a different OWHA-affiliated association who wish to attend tryouts with SCFHA must provide a Permission to Tryout form issued by their current association.

🔹 Players Currently Registered with an OMHA Team (Boys' Hockey)

  • If a player is currently registered with an OMHA-affiliated association but was last registered with an OWHA girls' hockey program, they must obtain a Permission to Skate from their last OWHA association (if it was not SCFHA).
  • No Permission to Tryout form is required for OMHA players registering with OMHA-affiliated teams or leagues.

🔹 General Guidelines for Permission to Tryout Requests
PTT forms are required for each association/team a player intends to try out for.
PTT forms will NOT be kept confidential from current or future coaches.
PTT requests may take up to 5 business days to process.
Forms will NOT be issued before the first week of April.
PTT requests will be denied if the player has any outstanding fees owed to SCFHA or an SCFHA team.
A Permission to Tryout DOES NOT guarantee a player release.

📌 SCFHA-registered players can request a Permission to Tryout form [HERE].

Player Release Policy

Player releases are now processed exclusively through the RAMP registration system.

How to Request a Player Release

1️⃣ Register with another OWHA-affiliated association via RAMP.
2️⃣ This triggers an electronic release request to the player's current association.
3️⃣ The release is not official until it is reviewed and approved by both associations.

Release Approval Conditions

To be granted a release, players must:

Settle all outstanding fees owed to SCFHA or any SCFHA-affiliated team.
Return all SCFHA equipment and property, including non-custom jerseys if applicable.
✅ Understand that release requests will not be kept confidential from current and/or future coaches.
