Most Valuable Goalie Award (MVG) in Honour of Maela Holmes
Brock Jr Badger Goalie
The Most Valuable Goalie Award is presented in honour of Maela Holmes, a cherished member of the Brock Jr. Badgers family who passed away in 2022. Maela was a dedicated goaltender who truly embodied what it means to be a great teammate, competitor, and friend.
Maela believed in doing the next right thing — a reminder to always act with integrity, kindness, and heart. Through this award, we carry on that spirit.
This award recognizes one goalie in each age group and division who demonstrates fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a genuine love for the game.
After each game, the referees will select one goalie to receive a point. At the conclusion of the division’s four games, the goalie (or goalies) with the highest total will be awarded the MVG puck in Maela’s honour.
REFS: The MVG point is to be awarded to the goalie in the game that meets the set criteria. That is; Sportsmanship, hardest worker, does NOT have to win the game or have a shutout, fair play.
RULES: The refs vote on the goalie of that game and award the point. They advise the scorekeeper. At the end of the 4 games, the goalie tandem with the highest tally in that age and division will be award the MVG. This will presented on the last game before the finals or semis, whichever comes first.
SCOREKEEPERS: Please write the name and team of the MVG for that game on the sheets provided.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!
