ST. CATHARINES FEMALE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
PERMISSION TO SKATE AND PLAYER RELEASE POLICY

Permission to Skate

A Permission to Skate form is required in situations such as the following:

⦁ A player currently registered with the St. Catharines Female Hockey Association (“SCFHA”) who wishes to attend a tryout session with another OWHA association will require a Permission to Skate form to be issued by the SCFHA.

⦁ Any player who wishes to attend a tryout session with the SCFHA that is currently registered with another OWHA affiliated association will require a Permission to Skate form to be issued from their current association.

⦁ For players currently registered with an OMHA affiliated association or team (i.e., boys hockey), eligibility is determined by the last girls hockey association they were previously registered with. Current OMHA registered players who were last registered with an OWHA affiliated association other than the SCFHA will require a Permission to Skate form issued by that association.

⦁ A Permission to Skate is not required to register or play for a team affiliated with the OMHA or other federation.

⦁ Current SCFHA members who require a Permission to Skate form must complete the PTS form available here.

A separate Permission to Skate form will need to be issued for each team and/or association the player wishes to try out for. If applicable, please provide all relevant information in your request.  Permission to Skate forms will not be kept confidential from current and/or future coaches.

⦁ Please note that it can take up to 5 business days to have a Permission to Skate issued and forms will not be issued until the first week of April.

⦁ A Permission to Skate will not be issued if a player has any outstanding fees owing to the SCFHA or any SCFHA team.

⦁ If a Permission to Skate is issued to a player this does not guarantee an automatic Release from SCFHA.

Player Release Policy
Player releases are now completed via the RAMP registration system. To obtain a release, a player must register with another OWHA association in RAMP; this will trigger an electronic release request to the player's current association. The release is only considered complete after approval by both associations.

Release Approval Conditions
For a player release to be approved, the following must be satisfied:
⦁ All financial accounts must be settled - the player must not owe any money to the SCFHA or their former team.

⦁ All equipment and property of the SCFHA must be returned to the SCFHA or the player’s former team, including non-custom jerseys as applicable.

⦁ Releases will not be kept confidential from current and/or future coaches.

Thank you
