Most Valuable Goalie (MVG) Award in honour of Maela Holmes

The SCFHA is proud to announce the Brock Jr Badgerfest Most Valuable Goalie (MVG) Award in honour of Maela Holmes.

Maela, a member of our Jr. Badgers family, passed away in 2022. Many of our players honour Maela by wearing a rainbow patch with her initials on their jerseys. Maela loved rainbows and her family is thankful that many choose to still wear these patches in her honour.

The MVG Award will be given to a goalie in each age group and division. It will go to a goalie who exemplifies traits such as fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork and an overall love of the game. At the end of each game, the referees will select a goalie to recieve a point. At the end of the division’s four games, the goalie(s) who has accumulated the most points will recieve the MVG puck.

Maela loved tournaments and we look forward to honouring her and her passion for the game in this way.
